FB#.TEMPCEN
Description
This parameter enables reading the encoder device’s temperature via FB#.TEMPC. When enabled, FB#.TEMPC monitors the temperature at the encoder device every 500 ms in addition to the motor winding temperature being monitored every 8 ms (see AXIS#.MOTOR.TEMPAXIS#.MOTOR.TEMP).
-
- Enabling the encoder temperature readings will periodically delay the motor winding temperature update for up to 150 ms while the encoder temperature is obtained. This may also cause a delay in the motor temperature fault F5000 by that amount of time if the temperature ends up exceeding the threshold.
-
- If the Hiperface DSL cable quality is low, enabling this functionality may cause spurious communication faults due to having to switch between the underlying feedback device commands.
Example
Usage
The parameter is used to track encoder temperatures as they change during drive operation. Currently, the only feedback that supports reading encoder temperature measurements is Hiperface DSL. All unsupported feedbacks will return a value of 0 °C.
